Illustrator Shaw Nielsen designed the front and back cover for this accordion book. The covers where printed on the extra thick 314lb Neenah Wild by Genghis Kern. Then 100 of these 22 page books, with an elastic closure, were assembled by Shepherd Letterpress.

All in all, a fun collaboration with some outstanding gentleman.

In addition to being the printer, myself and approximately 10-30 different volunteers spent many hours working on construction of the book, under the guidance of SFCB Studio Manager Rhiannon Alpers.

Two color print on Cranes Crane's Lettra 110 lb. cover stock. This project was completed during my Letterpress Internship at the San Francisco Center for the Book (SFCB).

The Tested Crew also created a nice video featuring the talented Rhiannon Alpers.

Paul and I worked extensively mixing color (Paul is color blind), playing with line weight, and paper selection to meet his vision for the print.

While overprinting like this presents a challenge when setting registration, it allowed us to create a fourth color without having to make an extra plate.
